Since she was a child, Sara was surrounded by fado musicians who motivated her to become a regular within this genre. At just 13 years old, she was the winner of the Grande Noite do Fado in Lisbon. She learned from great artists such as Celeste Rodrigues, Jorge Fernando and Maria de Nazaré. Her first album Sara Correia was applauded by critics and earned her being named "the great voice of the new generation
